Our resident rockstar Julie starts off our crafting odyssey by creating a customizable, functional-yet-glam sock craft: a rocker glove!
Materials: 3 socks of complementary colors, scissors, needle and thread
Time: Approx. 1 hour per glove (2 hours for a set)
Step 1: Choose your socks!
Take 3 socks and lay them out next to your arm. Choose the finished opening of one sock to form the wrist edge of your glove. Cut this to a length of your preference. Then pick an alternating color from another sock and cut a strip of approximately the same length. You will need one more sock to form the “palm” of your glove. You will want a piece of this sock large enough to cover your palm from the bottom of your fingers to your wrist. You might want to wait until you’ve created your wristband before cutting this sock material.
Step 2: Create your wristband!
Take your two wrist pieces, turn them inside out, pinch the seams together and sew. A simple stitch will do – nothing fancy required. (When you turn the pieces right side out again, you should not be able to see the seam.) Once you’re finished sewing the pieces, try the beginning of your new glove on your wrist. This will help you determine how large a piece of sock to cut for your palm. Your palm material will be approx. 3 1/2″ – 5″ long, depending on the size of your hand and the length you want.
Step 3: Make your palm!
This is pretty easy: turn your palm material and your wristband inside out, pinch the seams together and sew. Presto! Your glove is beginning to take shape.
Step 4: Make your thumb!
The fingers are the most important part of your rocker glove. You can make them any length, color or design. Start first with your thumb. Cut a strip from one sock, approximately 1″ or wider. Wrap it around your thumb to determine length, and add just a bit of extra material to allow for the seam. Turn the strip inside out and sew lengthwise to create a thumb for your glove. When you are finished sewing, turn the thumb piece right side out, and put it on your thumb to make sure it fits! When you’ve checked on fit and length, add the thumb to the palm piece of your glove. Turn both pieces inside out and match up your thumb with the outer edge of your palm. Make sure the seam of your thumb is directed to the underside of the glove. Match up your edges and begin sewing. This gets a bit tricky when you reach the inside seam of your thumb and palm. Pinch the palm material together and continue sewing, finishing in the area next to your index finger.
Step 5: Create the rest of your fingers!
The rest of your fingers are created just like the thumb, taking care to make sure that you are allowing enough room on the palm for each finger. Julie choose to combine two fingers in the middle of her palm to allow for wearing rings. You can choose to combine fingers, customize lengths, etc. In true rocker fashion, you will want to make the index and pinky fingers longer than the rest to allow you to flash your sign-of-the-devil in wicked style. Start with your pinky finger, then your index finger and work inside to your middle fingers, repeating the same process as your thumb. Make sure to check that each finger piece fits before you add it to your palm. Try on your glove before and after each finger is added to make sure that you leave yourself enough material.
Step 6: Double-check your work…
Make sure all the seams on your glove are closed and face the underside (palm side) of the glove.
Step 7: ROCK!!!

Hello Everyone,
I am a golfer myself and I like to play whenever I get a chance.
A short while ago, a very good friend of mine told me about a great golfing equipment and accessories website that has discounted prices on all their products, same day shipping in most cases and there is no state sales tax, they are paying that.
So if any golfer here is ready to save some money on quality products at highly discounted prices, you might want to check out their site at; http://hoffmangolf.com
